The Northern Lake Como is one of the favorite destinations for surfers and sailors, who find efficient equipment, ideal climate and breathtaking scenery. From April to October, there are many international races and water sports courses for any level and age – kids, beginners and advanced.

Moreover, the area is an ideal starting point for excursions in close contact with nature: its valleys and mountains are wonderful destinations for hikes at high altitude, for mountain bikers and for peaceful walks to discover the local traditions (“crotti”, festivals, farms). During a walk through the woods, you can discover churches, picturesque villages, castles and towers coming out, as if by magic, in the infinite shades of green vegetation.

In the center of Dongo, you can find many typical restaurants, pizzerias and a pier from which ferries and hydrofoils leave. From here you can reach every part of the lake, admiring the beautiful landscapes and prestigious villas that once were reserved for the nobility; now some of them have become holiday homes for Hollywood stars such as George Clooney.

There are many things to do on Lake Como, for all tastes and all ages.

The area of the lake is like an outdoor gym where you can practice different sports, From water skiing to mountain biking, from horse riding to hiking.

Northern Lake Como is a paradise for sports lovers and especially for such activities as windsurfing and sailing. With the breva – the typical wind of the lake – you can sure have a lot of fun.

Pian di Spagna is one of the most important nature reserves of the region where 24 species of birds have been recorded: you can discover this by horse-riding.

On lake Como, you can enjoy the beautiful days in the sun at the beach and cool off in the lake or the pool and in the evening you can explore the villages.

The beaches have facilities such as bars or restaurants, beachchairs, longechairs and umbrellas; the entry ticket costs from 5 to 10 €.

Besides enjoying the warm sunshine of the lake, when evening comes, one might take the time to watch the beautiful sunsets of the lake.

A short boat ride separates Ossuccio from the Isola Comacina. Take a tour of the island and enjoy a pleasant walk along the typical Italian streets. In addition, there is a small beach where you can sunbathe or swim in the lake, while having a picnic.

You can visit the villas and their beautiful gardens, which can be easily reached by the elegant boats that recall the “Dolce Vita” of the Italian 1960s, when the stars of the cinema used to spend their time on Lake Como.

You can play golf in Menaggio or Lanzo, which have 18-hole courses surrounded by nature and by the Central Alps that are waiting for you.
